321 Esplanade, Coffin Bay, South Australia. Coffin Bay, named by Matthew Flinders after his friend, botanist Sir Isaac Coffin is situated 45 kilometres west of Port Lincoln on Eyre Peninsula. It has a permanent population of around 650 which swells to over 4,000 in the summer months and at Easter. Idyllic Coffin Bay is a smorgasbord of unspoilt natural inlets, bays and vast waterways with pristine waters and sandy beaches. The town is surrounded by the sea, Coffin Bay National Park and Kellidie Bay Conservation Park.

How to Get There

It is almost a 700 kilometre drive from Adelaide via Port Augusta and Whyalla.

Alternatively a 40 minute flight to Port Lincoln Airport - REX Airlines http://www.rex.com.au  and Qantas Link, fly regular flights to Port Lincoln and return at competitive prices. Most major car rental companies have vehicles that can be picked up at Pt Lincoln airport.

The easiest way from the airport to Coffin Bay (40 minute drive) is via Pt Lincoln where you will find the road to Coffin Bay signposted. The shortest route however is over some graded dirt roads and is the first road to your right after leaving North Shields. Keep crossing intersecting roads until the bitumen and then turn right.
